Does anyone have feedback on one of these vises?
After dropping my Bench Plane I'm ready to do something about my vice(less) situation.
I can't afford to get a workbench with dogs to hold my work, and I am going to need something to hold pieces for doweling on the work table also.
Thanks in advance
Pinkie

I wood like to hear from owners too. So many vises to choose from.............
There have been other threads on vises. I haven't seen one that I don't like really...........

This one seems so versatile for our set up with the Mark V.
I also have an old work table/bench/cabinet from the house's previous owner with a plywood top and this would work on that too.
I am wondering if it is "heavy" enough for light use with a hand plane.

Here is a patternmaker's vise (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=577167&t=11082005) that has good reviews. It is more expensive but will outlast you according to the reviews. :)

Hey Pinkie,
A lot of people don't like Harbor Freight but you might want to check out their solid oak work bench. It's only $179.99

Hi George,
It isn't that I don't like Harbor Freight, I don't like to purchase items that are made in China! Where is this bench made? It does not say on the web page that you link to.

Tim,
I'm sure it's made in China. Sorry.
