I just got a notice from Preachtree Supply of a sale on UHMW plastic.
UHMW plastic is generally fairly expensive and I'm not sure this is a all that good of a sale. But I wanted to pass it on for those that might want some to make some of those jigs we have been talking about on the forums.

That is an amazing price for the size and quantity. I keep plenty of it around in huge blocks and strips like those shown. The fence clamps are handy and priced well.mt

Just exactly is UHMW plastic anyway? Also is it recyclable?

The ad says, "UHMW is short for Ultra High Molecular Weight plastic. Simply put, it means it is a high density plastic. UHMW can be worked just like wood, with regular woodworking tools, drill it, tap it, plane it, saw it, rout it, you just can't glue it. (We have not found a glue that will stick to it)"
I call it the slippery white plastic stuff. :D
I have no idea in the world if it is recyclable.

Do you think that they would make good zero clearance inserts?
