Unfortunately, you can't use the 3300 to remove the volume of dust remaining in the unit itself - somewhat of a recursive act!

Hi Dick,

Recently when I emptied out my Shopvac, for a brief second I thought about using the Shopvac to clean the caked-up sawdust off the filter until common sense caught up with me...

Chuck,

You are a heck of a guy taking that thing apart again. You prove that the people on this forum are unique in the fact that they truly try to help one another.

Are you using a clear bag? Good idea to change out at least before it gets 3/4 of the way full.

My collection (clear) bag is at least 3/4 full. Are you saying that this is causing the dust bag to fill up with dust?

I think I may have misunderstood. When you said dust bag, I was thinking the collection bag. I now think you meant filter hood.

Want to talk mess...my filter hood was apparently not on tight enough one time. I took all the plugs out of the DC to filter some of the air in the shop. When I pulled the last plug, the hood flew off from the increased airflow. Alot of wood dust blew out before I got to the switch to turn it off. Big mess.

Eldyfig, You're correct, I meant filter hood. But, man, was that thing filled with dust - ergo, "dust bag".:D
