Play around in this thread for testing your picture uploads.

To UPLOAD FROM YOUR PC - You can upload an image to your post as well from your computer. First locate the image file on your computer, then click the paper clip icon at the top of the page http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/images/editor/attach.gif. Next click the browse button to select the file from your computer NOTE: the file must meet the limitations of the size and type listed at the bottom of the "paper clip link". Once you have selected the file click upload. Finally, once you have returned to the edit screen, click beside the paper clip http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/images/editor/attach.gifwhere the down arrow is, and select the picture that you just uploaded. This will insert that picture into your post.

Dusty,
I wondered what "attaching" did. Now I see. I thought it was an alternative way of imbedding a picture in the message, but I guess not.
Keep trying, you'll get it.
Looking at the properties of your first try - looks like you've got the right idea, including the actual file name PA290043.JPG, but it's pointing to the F drive. On our company systems, the F drive is a network drive that is not available to others outside the company. You need to have the image located somewhere on the internet that is available for others to access. Your AOL space probably has something like that. You just need to know the exact location and add the filename to the end of the structure. So, it'd probably look something like you used in the other thread, but with the filename at the end.
example: http://pictures.aol.com/ap/myAlbums.do?albumId=5400.1834.1166630080798.1/pa290043.jpg
If you can view the picture stored on your AOL site in your browser, just copy the url address from the Intenet Explorer address bar, and paste it into the picture dialog box.

I sure hope this helps you because I want to see those pix of yours. Let me know if I can help. (I don't understand how AOL does it, but I'm sure there's a way. It wouldn't make sense give you space to store pictures but not allow you to post them.)

Dusty,
One other comment to perhaps help explain this.
In my previous post, look at the snapshot I took of my browser window. See that url address with filename in the address bar. If you type that exact same address with filename in your explorer address bar, you should see that picture pop up all by itself. That's exactly what we're trying to make happen inside our messages. We're just telling it the picture name, and where to go get it.
Take care,
Hal

There may be a Rights and Privileges issue involved here.
As you can see from the previous post, that tag line did not function as expected in my forum message.
When I insert that same line (copy and paste) into my browser, as predicted, I have the photo.
