I would like to use the DC3300 with a Rigid planer that has a 4" chute. Went to my local Woodcraft and got what I thought would work, a 4" to 2 1/2 reducer. Only problem is it is the same size of the Rigid chute... 4". Anyone know if there's a larger reducer to fit a 4" chute down to 2 1/2 for the DC3300? Or smaller that would fit inside the 4" chute on the Rigid?

Without seeing Pictures, can you buy a PVC or ABS 4" coupler to fit between the Rigid planer chute and the reducer that you bought at Woodcraft? If knot, can you buy a 4" rubber coupler (with band clamps) to fit in the same space?

A short piece of 4" hose will fit over the adapter and the jointer. Then your hose from the DC3300 should work.

putttn, did you get your Rigid planer attached to the DC3300?

No, I'm still wondering how I'm going to go about fitting a 4" hose over a 4" outlet chute? I may wander up to the local hardware store and look at some rubber fittings that can be held with a clamp. I understand that the plumbing dept has the reducers and will see if they will work.

putttn, a1guttermans idea should solve your problem. They have ones that are all rubber couplings and ones that have a metal sleave around the rubber. The metal type may give needed support to the coupling if you have a lot of hose attached to the fitting.https://www.hardwareworld.com/Coupling-4-X-4-inch-pYB7KSZ.aspx HD or Lowes has a wide variety.------Dave

Like I said in a previous post, if you take a short piece of 4" dust collector hose and attach it to the planer then attach the adapter to the hose, you should be able to attach the DC3300 to the adapter. I have done this in reverse with a dust collector that has a 4" intake. I used a piece about 2' long, attached an adapter then connected my 520 to the adapter. Good luck.
