Day 4 of my Shopsmith ownership and I made this ?thing? Take a look.

2092
It is 6 inches tall.

2093
It is 1 1/4" diameter at the top with a raised lip.

2094
It is 2 1/4" diameter at the bottom. And it has a 3/4" hole through the middle.

I used the lathe for the second attempt. Thanks to this forum. I used the fence and miter gauge with two clamps to horizontally boar the hole from both ends due to its length.

More pictures to follow. Make your best guess.

I know!!, I know!! Raised my hand and everything!

Answer: It is a partially finished handle for a crank. :D Or a chisel, or something like that!

Kinda looks like the beginning of a salt/pepper shaker. Or maybe a candlestick holder?

It is an adapter.I think that rsdiggs is on the right track, but how about a reducer for a dust collector or shop vac?:D

It is a duck or turkey call.

It's an exploration into the capabilities of the Shopsmith AND the development of woodworking without the stress of potentially screwing up expensive materials....

....By the way, Ed, you "quack" me up.

Sorry, couldn't resist........:p

Darn, I was in the shop and got another idea of what that item might be, but - - Ed beat me to it! -- I was gong to guess a duck call, but turkey call or elk whistle would also fit.
