Why oh why does Shopsmith milk me to death with the pre-holiday email specials!! Over the last few weeks i've spent hundreds on getting parts and accessories just to receive an email after my order with some of the same things for a reduced amount!!

I'm afraid to order now cause when I do an email comes out with the same item/s at a reduced cost!

My last order with them was over 500.00 and now within hours on 2 different emails pops up a couple of items I paid full price for!

Of course one could just set and watch all the email specials, watching for the individual item/s then buy but then shipping cost of individual items defeats any savings!

Shopsmith... please stop milking me!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I just ordered several items off their latest email sale.

Doug,
Wow, if getting those emails is that expensive, maybe I should quit whining about not being able to get them.
Actually, would like to be getting them. They stopped month or so ago and try as I might cannot seem to get reinstated.

Thanks Bob. Am aware of that avenue. Was hoping to get them to come to me instead of having to go get them. Lazy streak.

Shopsmith... please stop milking me!http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/images/smilies2/crying.gifAs I see it, Doug, you have two choices:
Choice One~ Buy one of everything they have, saving on the shipping costs, of course, and call them up every time they have a sale to get a credit for the difference on that item. http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/images/smilies2/embarrassed2.gif
Choice Two~ Never buy anything until they have a sale on it. http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/images/smilies2/shakehead.gif

Or you can do what I, and I think a lot of others here, do, which is to keep a look out for sale items that we know we will need some time, but otherwise buy what we need when we need it and knot worry about if it comes on sale or knot.http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/images/smilies2/thumbup2.gif

After ordering this evening, I received a comfirmation email with 20% off of anything if I order within 5 days.

Hmmmm.....That is $85.00 off of the 520 upgrade.

I feel your pain, Doug!;) This problem has been around for the past several years. You've been given some real good alternative strategies above.

Tell you what I do.--- I grit my teeth a lot and try to buy only those things I need or really want. If they are currently on sale, GREAT! If not - that's the way the cookie crumbles. I'll whine a little, but at least I got what I need or want. If I say anything to my wife, she asks if I'd like some cheese with that whine! She also has an expensive hobby!
