The Grandfather clock is beautiful. The "crotch" veneer in the lower door is really stunning!

I mostly make harps in my shop. I play harp and teach so my harps go to students, sale and rent. I've done some other small instruments and am getting set up to try making a few Native American Style Flutes. Although I haven't used the shopsmith for anything but a drill press for years (and a place to stack things on)...I'm going to see if I can get it going to use it as a lathe. I took a turning class at Woodcraft last weekend....what fun! Melanie

I do alot of pen turnings, and small turnings, thinking of doing some bigger stuff like vases and lamps, I also do yard art, bird houses and feeders,coffee tables,book cases, alot of whimsical stuff like wind chimes, whirlagigs,old timey looking latterns made from wood and masson jars. If its wood I enjoy making it.

I'm pretty new to wood working so I'm trying to work on practical things that don't have to be heirloom quality. Bookcases right now. After that I have a charger station I want to build. And I'm also building an outdoor 'chest' to hold my wife's gardening tools (so it'll free up more space for me to get lumber. :) )

My shop is my sanctuary. It is my special, fun place. It is open, year round, about 250 days per year. Almost all types of woodworking are practiced there. Mostly furniture type things including cabinets and shelves., but also some turned things and some carvings.

Also, there are the times when the machinery gets switched off and a T.V. football game is enjoyed.

The shop is also home to a woodworking library of some books and lots of magazines - so sometimes it serves as a research center.

I just finished the fireplace mantle, I think I posted the photos here. Right now I am making just a simple box to hold my dado set. When I purchased the set, it came in that plastic that they use now days. Anyway, I was having trouble keeping it all together, so thought I would build a container for it out of scraps.

Something I noticed! This subject brought out a lot of new posters. Names I have never seen before. That is really great.
