My Amana Dado set from SS arrived around Thanksgiving, but with my knee replacement and the holidays, today was the first time I took it out of the box. I was very pleased. The blades were plastic coated to prevent contact during shipping, so after a few minutes of peeling plastic, I had a really sharp Dado to play with. Using the SS Dado arbor, I cut a set of tendons first on scrap (a few time to get comfortable) then on walnut for the rocking horse head. The blade cut clean and the measurement was rock solid. No wobble. Basically, I'm a happy camper.
First day in the shop making sawdust since the knee replacement, it felt good.
Best wishes to you all, and happy New Year.

Glad you got your personal parts working again!:D

About the Amana dado - did you find the bottom of the cuts to be really flat?

A cut 7/16th wide 8" long with the grain was beautifully flat in walnut and in the test pieces of pine and ply. The cross cut in walnut, 7/16th x 2" had a slight blade mark running down the center...it cleaned easily with a chisel.
