Dang young kids... :cool: You know, records were originally made of Shellac. I remember watching a show on TV some years ago, hosted by a couple guys from the east coast that restored furnature, and they would make their own shellac finish by breaking up old 78rpm records and soaking them in solvent. Can't remember the name of that show, but the one guy reminded me of Bowser from Sha Na Na...Go back a little farther..Thomas Edison invented the first record in 1877 out of tin foil. This site (http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2009/04/23/records-past-present/) has some interesting info. Wax was also used before the more recent shellac and vinyl.
