Johnson's Paste Wax

I was just browsing through the Spring Sales Items and came across a couple items that sort of surprised me.

Is the recommended wax for items like the Shopsmith table tops no longer Johnson's Wax? The catalog lists Trewax and Minwax but no Johnson's.

The Trewax is not recommended for on the equipment only the projects.

Has been a couple years now that Shopsmith has been recommending Minwax.. Must have closed there advertising contract with Johnson Wax products.. Myself, I prefer Johnson's Wax as it is firmer and not as mooshie feeling.

I think they all will provide the same protection to tool surfaces (filling pours) to repell moisture.

Does Johnson's still make paste wax?

I looked high and low around here and in stores just south of the border but couldn't find any. Since all the supermarkets seem to carry only liquid waxes, I figured there is no market for paste wax.

I finally settled for Minwax in the paint dept. of a big box store at, I'm sure a higher price and like others, prefer the feel of Johnsons.

I picked up some Johnson's a month ago at a "Ace Hardware" store. I personally prefer to use "SlipIt" on my machinery where I need a slick surface.

Easy to find but like most of us fools we fail to spell it correctly... It's not Johnson's Paste Wax but rather Johnson Paste Wax.
