Everytime someone posts their favorite impovement fidea or the dream shopsmith of the future, I wonder if just maybe the next model could include t slots for floating and extension tables. After all we have the sharpening jig that is designed to mount on one of those tables. It even comes with the t slot attachment yet none of those tables come with a T slot. Yeah I know I am in incurable dreamer. fjimp

I'm with you. I really like the idea of T-slots in the extension tables!

Make sure what you are wishing for and then go for it. I put mine on an extension table but I'm thinking about moving it to a floating table.
Then on the other hand, I may just make two more configured as floating tables with on tracks on opposite sides.

I am going to do that. Does Shopsmith sell the parts or do I have to find them somewhere else. The t slot might be hard to find since the dimensions are strange.

Jim,
I agree with you on the T slot improvement. ;)
Funny thing is they have done it in the past! The photo is of my SS2K floating table. It should look familar, same basic design (only bigger) and uses the same T track and rail system as the MK V 510. So they knew how to do it 15 years ago. Maybe we will get it for the MK V when they have to make a new mold for the MK V floating tables. :)

I think my first improvement would be more and wider extension tables for the ends.
Oh wait, I did make those.

Does this S2K floating table fit on the front and rear rails of the 510 or is it longer.

Dusty every time I look at that photo I try to figure out how you managed that. Is it possible to see other angles so this dummy can get the picture? fjimp
