With the increasing numbers of forum members who are new to Shopsmith, I just wanted to emphasize how helpful the Shopsmith Owners Web Site is as a resource for information. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/index.htm

I hope everyone takes the time to explore all of the links available on this page.

I certainly recommend setting up your own Shopsmith Personalized Home Page http://www.shopsmith.net/ and from there adding whatever woodworking content you may find helpful. http://www.shopsmith.net/choose.htm.

I find that by entering the forum from the Personalized Home Page, it helps to remind myself of all the resource material that is there and that I need to do periodic reviews of stuff.

I also notice that most of the used Shopsmiths for sale on ebay, craigslist, etc. (especially older Model 500's) are pictured with missing or inadequate guarding. Hopefully everyone who has or is thinking about acquiring a used machine takes the time to fully investigate and understand what the proper safety devices are needed and what upgrades are available to make the operation of their machine as safe as it can be. OK enough for tonight, Thanks, John McCrossen

Read here if you don't think safety is needed.
