I just changed the collection bag on my Shopsmith Dust Collector. In the past, I've had trouble getting the bags to stay on, reverting to a little Duct Tape strip around the top of the bag to help hold it on.
This time, I took a piece of plastic strapping (the kind used for supporting pipes with holes drilled every few inches) cut it to about one inch short of going around the dust collector, widened the end holes with a box cutter, then secured it around the top of the bag with a zip tie inserted thru the end holes to draw it tight.
Cheap,. works great, is quick and reusable.

is this in addition to the 3(?) metal hooks and the big hose/airplane clamp?
or instead of the clamp?
where are you wrapping the strap?

If you want to get rid of your field expedient clamp, you can order part number 29 on this page. It's the big airplane clamp referred to above.

Mine came with one large hose type clamp for the dust filter and the three metal hooks for the dust collection bag. Looking at the parts list, I guess they come with two clamps (or do now) one for each bag. At any rate, the plastic strapping works fine on the collection bag, probably easier than the hose clamp, so I'll just stick with it.

My dust collector came with a large hose clamp for the top dust bag and a nylon strap that had a buckle connector/clamp. It also had three metal straps with points cut in them to hold the collection bag in place while you secure the nylon strap around it.
The buckle connector/strap has a wide hook afixed to the strap at one end and at the other a same wide hook attached to a fold back tightener by a threaded rod.
The idea is to wrap the strap around the bag and connect the two hooks. By using the threaded rod you can get a fairly tight fit. Then using the fold back tightener you tightly close it and it has a super tight hold on the bag.
