Ok here is the picture of the broken part on my Shop Smith VII :(

Details of this part are as follows according to the Parts List Manual from ShopSmith for the VII models.

Parts Number : 501332
Part Name: Bracket - Control Assembly
Information found on page 6 for the detailed drawing and page 7 for the part identification.

Notice the broken grooves in the slot on the Lower left slot.

So who's the person in the background of the picture??

MY guess would be it is a POPPI!:D

MIKE: Would that perma weld(or whatever it is called) you used to 'fix' your carriage work on his part???

Interesting challenge.......Could you make a repair with Alumalloy and then grind it to shape like the other two slots?

In the drawing below notice the hole nearest to the center line of the newpart is located 1/4 of the diameter of the hole off the center line. This allows 'fine' adjustment of the location of the hole to be used in the slot. It is not symmetrical so flipping the part end for end will provide additional hole locations.

It may be easier to 'patch the original part with some of the compounds suggested. I have no experience with them.
