Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm.I keep all non-essential lights off 100% of the time. My reasons are more economical then altruistic though.

Me/we too. It has become a habit for the last 70 years. This is just the way we were taught and it's easy to follow. The simple rule is to turn out every light every time you leave a room.
I also do like Chuck and Al simply for the sole purpose of keeping the electric company from getting any more of my money than what I am willing to give them. In this part of the country, most everything is electric and even though TVA claims our rates are lower than average, I have always only used what is needed, with the exception being while making sawdust.

This is easy for me. I'm usually asleep by this time. Now if they do this at 4:00am I might have trouble cooperating.:)
I need to put some sort of timer (light sensor switch) on the overhead lights in my shop. I go out there early in the morning and turn on the lights. You guessed it - they may stay on all day depending on when my wife notices them on.

I was thinking about this what happens when everyone, everywhere turned off all their non essential energy using products at one time. What would that do to the energy generating facilities? Then my other question is what happens when the time is up and everyone turns them back on at one time?
One last question is the 8:30-9:30 EST or CST or MST or PST or Greenwich mean time? Has anyone checked what time zone Russia and China are using?
I was thinking I would just see when Dusty turns his lights off or should I be watching Chuck or maybe Tim?
Better yet could some one send me a PM or e-mail and tell me when to turn off my non essential power? Oh wait! Since my computer is non essential (WHAT?????) I will probably turn it off early so I can have time to run through the house flipping switches.
I can't wait until I turn off the TV during one of my wife's programs. I will just explain to her that it is an "Earth Something or Another" and that is the patriotic thing to do. That might just keep we alive if I remember to break out in a rendition of God Bless America before she clobbers me. If all else fails I will tell her that YOU GUYS told me too it. :D
I'm so confused????? :o
