Roland, congrats. Glad to hear that the orders are at least trickling through the system and there's not a complete log-jam. Still looking forward to my shipping notice.

WOOOHOOO... just went to my bank account and checked, SS deducted the payment for the strip sander TODAY... so I should be getting mine soon too. Color me one happy camper...

I've had my strip sander for some time now but the sharpening attachment is still on back order. After watching Nick sharpen chisels on the strip sander last July I was sold.

I thought that I was getting my strip sander today as the fedex tracking said it was out for delivery. When fedex delivered it was only the extra sanding belts, but the packing slip said that both were shipped. Fedex said they only got one package. Guess I'll being calling tomorrow to see what is going on. Anyone else have this problem? :confused:

Left for work this morning and there was a nice box setting on my front porch as I drove off, with the ShopSmith logo and the words Strip Sander on it. :) Will look tonight, but it didn't look as if the Chisel Sharpening Attachment shipped with it though. Oh well, at least I got something.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the chisel sharpening attachment. Well, at least I think I am. I'm going to have to check through a fairly large number of backorders to find out for sure.

Tom - glad you got your sander! Like both you and Paul, I am waiting patiently for the sharpening gizmo! I'd sure like to have a chance at sharpening some of my wife's numerous pairs of scissors.

I got the strip sander today. Fedex did pick up both packages at the same time and same place. They had two difference tracking numbers and SS only provided me with one until I called them. My strip sander decided it needed and extra vacation day in Kentucky for some reason, but got here today. Now it is time to try it out and have some fun. I hope everyone else that got theirs are enjoying them. :)
