Strip Sander on its way

Yippee. I got an email on Saturday that something shipped. I called today and found out it was the strip sander! Perfect timing - I have a project that needs it.

I just checked my order confirmation and it still shows that mine isn't shipped yet. Maybe in the next couple of days mine will be shipped also.

I called today to see what the status was for shipping my sander since I had been told it would be shipped by the 31st and it still says order not shipped. I was told they ran out of parts and that they didn't expect more parts until the middle of April. Not sure how long after the parts were received it would take to assemble and ship. I then asked why they advertised the sander again when they still were unable to fill all of the orders from February and customer service said "I wish I knew". Sounded like she had more then one phone call on this.

Yeah, this is confusing. I was on the phone with customer service last week, on Thursday and asked about my order. I was told the very same thing that you were told. Then it shipped the very next day!

I figured they got their parts in. Now I wonder - was mine a return? Did they find completed one sitting in the warehouse somewhere that they did not realize was there? Are the parts trickling in and they are building as they go? Or did they order a very small set of parts to perform a QA on a few machines before ordering a larger number from the same supplier? Any of these could be true.

I want to believe that they have a good source of parts now, and that this is why they put the sanders back on sale - because they are able to build them again.

So, have faith. Since mine shipped within 24 hours after I was told the same thing you have been told, you never know!

Mine arrived a few days ago and I immediately put it to use. My first thought was "my, that is smaller that I thought it would be". But the results have been very good. I am pleased with this purchase.

Or they could have put it on sale to generate more orders so they could meet the minimum order qty on parts???????

I received my e-mail on the shipping of my strip sander on Saturday. I should have it by Wednesday. It did take two months from the order to shipping, but it should be worth the wait. Also, when I ordered it there was tax added to the order, but I notice when it was shipped they don't show tax being charged. Just more money to buy something else. :)

Roland, congrats. Glad to hear that the orders are at least trickling through the system and there's not a complete log-jam. Still looking forward to my shipping notice.

WOOOHOOO... just went to my bank account and checked, SS deducted the payment for the strip sander TODAY... so I should be getting mine soon too. Color me one happy camper...
