Hi,

Been lurking since I found this great source of information for a few months. Had a 500 since the fall of 1980. Recently picked up a bandsaw and was looking for information when I found this well of it. Have learned more about my machine in the last couple of months than all the previous years I had it. So far have been able to answer all my questions with searches, but it is good to know if I need help I can ask.

Oh, and that is my last name, never built one (yet).

Thanks everyone for sharing,

Duane

Welcome! Your story is pretty much the same as mine. I bought a brand new SS Mark V in January 1984. Used it over the years for a few projects. Bought a few accessories etc. And then in 2007, I bought a 1984 model 510 with bandsaw and belt sander at an estate auction. And discovered this site and the often lamented Sawdust Sessions. Since then I have picked up another 510 (a 1994) with a jointer, sold my 500 to my son-in-law and have continued to have fun.

Again welcome.
