Old SS Scroll Saw?

Someone not too far away is selling an older ('61 or possibly '68) SS Scroll saw for $25.. Below is the picture.. Is this something I should look into and will it work with my Mark V (510)? I'll assume that if parts are needed that may be an issue -- correct?

Yes, this is a shopsmith jigsaw and it will work on your 510. It uses an oil bath. You use a light weight oil in this bath. I use sewing machine oil.

The only parts I have had to replace is the oil gasket. And, I was able to puchase the gasket directly from Shopsmith.

I enjoy my jigsaw. Especially, with the coarse blade.

Yes, this jig/scroll saw will fit all mark Vs. Not a bad price if it works. I stock all the parts and blades used in this jig/scroll saw if you have any future need for parts. I rebuild the lower and upper units and accept trade-ins on rebuilt units. If you buy it, make sure the housing has 3 oz of oil in it. The fill hole is behind the metal plate held on with 2 screws. Make sure the housing vent hole (on side behind upper right cover screw) is clear/open so no oil is forced out around the gasket. You need to take your time when sawing with this unit as it only has an upper spring to pull the blade back up.
