The second yard/garage sale we went to this morning had a kids 6' diameter wading pool sitting out front and it had a double layer or more of these funny little packages that looked a lot like the plastic packs they use for cheap watches. I barely glanced at it since I usually ignore the new flea-market type merchandise and also because I knew from the ad that they were selling some woodworking tools. As it ended up I didn't buy any of the wood tools but I did have to walk past that little pool again. It finally soaked in that those little plastic packages were new router bits... They are all new bits still sealed in the packages. They are Irwin brand marked as "made in the USA". They are all carbide faced bits with a blue slick coating and they are identified as being "Blue Diamond" bits. I'll have to do an inventory of what I bought but I bought 16 of them with only a couple being the same kind. I gladly walked over to the card table and paid the $2 each price they had on them. :)
Some are 1/4" shaft and some are 1/2" shaft bits. Some are the type that use bearings (and they came with the bearings) and some do not. Many of them are made especially for plunge cutting. I have no real idea as to the actual quality of the Irwin brand these days but for a couple of bucks apiece they don't have to last forever. :)
