I catch myself going to my bookcase and referancing a manuel everytime I need to refresh. Now what I do is scan my favorite tips into the computer. I make a separte file for each heading. This way I don't have to drag the manuel out or print the page and remember where I put it. :p

Same here. If I have to refer to something hardcopy more than a couple times, I scan it. I actually even ripped apart the binding on a 160 page book and scanned it in, saving it as a pdf file . Fortunately, my scanner has a automatic sheet feeder and can do two sided originals.

This also comes in handy with woodworking plans. If I find a good one in a book -- I scan it.

I use a portable DVD player in the shop, I put all my plans on dvd's, and can refer to them as needed, jumping from one to another. It's also perfect for instructional video's, you can pause and rewind, or fast forward any time. I put it in a box, with a plexiglas front,to keep out the sawdust, and can still hear the audio. Portable dvd players are very reasonable, mine is refurbished.
