First, is there someplace I can .........
Second, is there a way to mark a thread as having been read without opening it up? I don't have time to read every message, so I pick the threads that seem interesting. I would like to easily mark the ones I skip so they stop showing up in the New Posts list.
Thanks!
If you literally mean a single thread, I don't know of any way to mark it read without first opening it. The other suggestions above deal with marking the entire forum (all threads in one of the 5 forums) read.

Thank you, beeg.

If you read the ones ya want and then mark that forum "as read". It clears ALL threads in that forum to "AS READ".

Agree but I don't think that's what the original question was. But hey, the English language can be a funny thing......Only earlmorton knows for sure.

Thanks beeg. Now I know why I couldn't see it. I don't ever go into just one particular forum. I always just click on "New Posts" to bring up any new posts on all the forums and when I am through I go to "Quick Links" and "Mark Forums Read".

I, too, generally just go to the New Posts page. That's why I hadn't found those icons on the forum pages. I did look in the FAQ pages, but didn't find the explanations there.
And I did mean marking a thread read, as from the New Posts page, since the threads shown there are from different forums.
Thanks, everyone!
