Some Time ago I remember seeing plans for a shop made sharpening jig. I am pretty sure it was in a ShopSmith publication or manual. I have looked in a 55 and an 89 copy of PTWFE and didn't find it there. Does anyone remember where I might have seen this.
Thanks
Mike

are you looking for a jig to sharpen lathe tools or plane irons? i don't recall seeing anything specific to shopsmith but there are plans available for a homemade "wolverine" style jig at: http://aroundthewoods.com/sharpening01.html
there are several pages to read through

Hi,
Have you checked out:
http://www.shopsmith.com/academy/sharpening/index.htm
If not it might at least be another place to check.

Try the 1984 edition of PTWFE page 334. May be what you want.

This jig is from the 1984 edition of PTWE as spalteddog suggested. Sorry I do not have a way to scan the pics as this is the best I can do. Hope this helps----Dave 5046

fwiw...I have been using this jig for years for bench chisels...works great and can be used on fairly short chisels.

What is on the sanding disc -- (assuming that's the regular flat disc) -- is it just regular sand paper or something else? Just curious!
