Who has the oldest unfinished project?

My day ended early today with the onset of rain. Well I could do some inside stuff but I decided to catch up on some reading here at the forum.

While I was doing a post about a platform swing that has been hiding in the garage for 28 years now in need of some small repairs and refinishing I also remembering that the sheet of plywood it is sitting on is really a single sheet of plywood picnic table waiting to get cut out.

The plywood trumps the swing by a couple of years, it has the pattern drawn on it waiting for someone to cut it out. I'll say that is about 30 years in a holding pattern. The worst thing is that may not be the oldest project sitting in the garage... the rest could be so old I may have completely forgotten about them.

I know some of the younger people here might not even be as old as these projects but it would still be interesting to here some stories of "yet to be finished woodworking projects". To be fair I do think they need to be at least 10 years old or more to fit in here but you chose.

Whoa there... Have you been looking around my place?? :eek: I'll have to think about this one a little. Not about trying to find an old unfinished project, I just have to thin the looooong list down. :rolleyes:
If I try hard I might be able to come up with a couple that I did finish... :)

Well now, I can knot qualify as none of my unfinished projects are 10 years old or more...but there is a reason for that: I have only lived in my current home for 4 years. I have several 4 year old unfinished projects, but I will knot list them as, has already been said, they do knot meet the
Reible criteria. :p

I wanted to build a 'shooting cart' to carry my musket to the firing line along with ammo, tools, cleaning equipment... anything I might need on the line.

I bought inflatable tires, nice birch plywood, and some metal tubing for the push/pull handle... 25+ years ago.

I still have all the stuff... not assembled or even cut out yet... but I COULD IF I WANTED! :p

DANG!!! Something else to put on my to-do list...:mad: I hadn't even thought of one of those yet. :) I don't have any muskets but I do shoot a few common front-stuffers now and then. None of what I have now is anything special and I don't do any formal shooting but they are fun to get together with some of my wife's brothers and shoot a little. I have killed a few paper targets but even though my neighbor is a taxidermist I have never had one stuffed. :D

I have a nice pallet of walnut (around 200 bd ft) that I bought very cheaply at an auction about 8 years ago to make a new set of kitchen cabinets. I still have it but I no longer live in that house... We had that house put up in 1976 and there are a few things on it that I never did get done... Nothing serious, just little stuff like the basement. :)

P.S. Tom's cart IS nice, but but but where would You put the ramrod(s)? Not sure it is tall enough either ...!
