...was received yesterday. It was a switch for the MKV 500. I had already given up and installed another one. Oh, well, it'll quit too, someday.

It's the old style toggle switch.
Edited for accuracy.....Just opened the pkg. It's a rectangular plastic toggle switch. Red and Yellow. It won't fit. Mine has a round hole for a threaded switch.
Bummer!
Edited AGAIN! Just called SS. I had ordered the wrong switch. 5 years of college and I STILL can't read!!!!

Is there a red safety switch for the 500?
IF it is a "C" headstock. I am not sure if they made any '500' after 1991! They did make 505's.

My backorder for the 20 inch miter gauge extention was shipped yesterday. We are making progress. Of course my order has only been back ordered for three month I think it was:) .

I think this thread needs some more 'good' news.
Today I called and ordered several different parts for several different devices(Mark V and SPT's) which I need to bring back to running condition. It is a pile of used 'stuff' that I recently purchased.
Several of the parts were 'not in stock', but the friendly person on the other end checked to see if the "line" had any. ALL but 2 could be filled by getting the parts from the 'line'. This procurement from the 'line' would add a few days delay to the shipping date, but hey, was I to complain about THAT?
After all the necessary info was exchanged, I asked her for her name. She replied she was LINDA and that she had been doing this for almost 32 YEARS! I complimented her for her positive attitude and can do perspective(and loyalty should have been said, but I neglected to do so).
So ALL but those two parts should arrive next week!:)
BTW one of the 'back-ordered' items was a Mark V DRIVE BELT:( .
Yep Linda and Jan are GREAT.
