I carry a couple of those a week into the outback. The outback is a place that I seldom go to just hangout. The rule there is usually no tennis shoes and no shorts. I concern myself more with the cactus there than I do the critters though.

Earlier this week I had visitors, too. I haven't seen many of these here for a couple years, though I think I recognize the entrance to their subterranean empire.

Only the female black widow has the hour glass. The male of the species
is just a little brown spider with no markings at all. The reason you seldom see them is that the female eats him after they mate!!
