Spent some time Sunday tearing down my Mark V trying to fix it. Finally gave up and sent a help request via the web site.

At work Monday, I got a call from Linda. She walked me through the whole thing, pointed me to some videos on the web site, and answered every dumb question I came up with.

Last night, I tore into my Mark V using the info Linda had provided. Sure enough, my speed control was pretty chewed up. Ordered a new one online.

I just want to say how incredibly impressed I am with the Mark V, Linda, and the whole ShopSmith team. I know times are tough, but I'm pulling for you all!

Doug, welcome to the forum. I had a nice conversation with Linda yesterday myself. She's a gem. Good luck with your Mk5.

Welcome, you will find both SS employees and the forum members are ready, willing and able to help. It is also great fun, just listening to these guys when they get going on something! Enjoy.

Welcome dougclutter....

You think Linda is helpful, you should see how the guys in this forum are!! Great place for ANY techical issues your run into whether they be personal, professional, or even shopsmith related. :D Just lay it out here and you'll get guidance.

Your the first one I have seen that uses a face as your avatar. We'd do the same but most of us are much too funny looking!!
