Hi Y'all, This is my first time on any forum so please bear with me. Just built a home in the Tx. Hill Country. Now planning on finishing all the trim work and cabinet's throughout the kitchen, bathrooms and utility room. Also planning on making the front door (not sure) and probably putting up prehung doors throughout the rest of the house. My major question. Can anybody shed some light on the use of the Incra Ult. Fense/Router Syst. Pkg.? I have Mark V upgraded to 520.

Welcome, roadrunner!
Someone may come on and help you out with an answer. In the meantime, do a search for "Incra" and you will find many threads already discussing the merits of the system that you are asking about.

roadrunner,
I don't have an Incra but I do have a Jointech which is similar. It can be used to cut precise joints such as dovetail and box joints in many variations. This is done through the use of templates where you move the fence to a pre-determined point, make a cut; move the fence to the next position make your next cut etc.
This system can certainly be used for making the things you mentioned.
There are some videos of the Incra (http://www.incrementaltools.com/View_Product_Demos_s/21.htm)systems and how they are used here. Maybe that will help.

Thank you for calling my attention back to the Incra videos. These are just like Sawdust Sessions for the Incra products. This is neat because when you buy one of their products you have the video right there.
I sorta think Shopsmith was something of a leader in these online videos. I sure wish they would have gotten abreast of the technology and then, even more, I wish they had remained in the game.
Maybe they will return with the PowerPro.

Thank's for the replies and greetings. This really is a great forum. tdubnik, I just looked up the jointech site and noticed it mounted to the 520. Still have alot to concider before purchasing the incra or possibly the jointech. I too am familiar with the incra videos. I've been using the mark V since 1982 and like the percision it offers especially upgraded to the 520. Also been using the incra jig fence system that 1st came out in or around 1982, mostly making dovetails or box joints. But after 27yrs I'm thinking it's time to upgrade to the latest fense/router system. Another option is to purchase (cha-ching):o cabinet saw:eek: + Incra fense system....Still looking for advice.

Welcome, roadrunner! I don't think you would go wrong with either the Incra or the Jointech systems. They are both good Texas companies with excellent customer service. Incra is based in Dallas area and Jointech is Austin. However, since I own one, I do believe that the Jointech's mounting system is more suited for the 520.
