When I purchased my SS, I received 2 12" sanding disks and at least 20 adhesive sanding pads of different grits.

My question to the board is, what is the best way to get the old sandpaper off?

Thanks!

Yeah me too. I have been swearing at my latest TV because it wouldn't show me viewing options. Right after I found what you asked for I decided to try one more time and found an upgrade on the Sony website that looks like what we need. Hopefully in a few minutes the Head Techie at our house (my bride of 39 years) will have it installed. Good Luck Jim

I put mine out in the hot sun for a couple hours. Handle with care (with gloves), they get really hot. This seems to soften the adhesive and the disks come right off. There will likely be some adhesive left behind. Clean real good with mineral spirits before attaching the next disk.

I keep multiple sanding disks so as to minimize the number of times I have to remove a disk.

The heat of an oven will work too; if she'll let you use it for such things.

I use a heat gun set on the low setting. After the paper comes off I clean the remaining residue with 91% IPA.

Personally I find that trying to just touch up a piece of fine wood will usually cause the sandpaper to come loose and tear up everything.:D :D
Actually heat, then a little cleaning with mineral spirits works real well.
