Does anyone else have this problem? Ever so often I can.t log in. Even though nothing has changed. I use a program that saves all of my log in information so I know it is correct and is correct when I ask for this information from the forum. It is very frustrating.

Hi Walt,

When my ISP is working correctly, I have never had a problem. My ISP ocasionally has a problem and I am not always able to log on....sometimes just to certain web sites, sometimes not to any...sometimes to web sites but not to my mail program. Like you say: It is very frustrating:mad: . I use Fox Internet, which has changed to Equity. Would that be your ISP?

On this web site I just don't log off. When I click on the SS Icon it automttically signs me in. Jim

Gampa -re you logging directly into here? Or are you talking about the Shopsmith Personalized home page?

Sometimes logging into here is strange, but I chalk that up to my Internet provider. A high speed local provider (wireless) whose signals come off of a mountain top about 10 miles away. The speed is nice, (up to 100mbs) but sometimes wind causes a temporary interruption. Trees in the way etc.

With the Home page, the prob. is my Windows Internet Explorer 7 - SS icon doesn't work here yet/

I use Wavecable as my ISP but I don't believe it is them. I rarely use the SS Icon on the desktop because I get an error message more often then not so I just log into the forum and SS homepage directly. Everything seems to work fine for a couple of weeks to a couple of months but then the sights just won't log me on and then I have to go through the set up procedures again. I never have this problem with other sites just these two and seeing as how they are in the top five:confused:

Sorry! Doggoned if I know how to help! Maybe there is a computer Guru lurking somewhere around this Forum. Maybe he/she can help.

The only thing that should effect logging in, other than not using the correct username and password, is your internet security settings being too high and cookies. If you do not delete your cookies you will be automatically logged in each time you visit, unless you click the "log out" link. The only way your ISP can effect using this forum is if it uses a proprietary browser like the AOL, Earthlink or SBC web browsers which have built in security that sometimes has problems interacting with many different types of sites tha require a log in.
