You know the longer I ponder this post I wonder if I have it right?????
.......
Don't fret Ed. I think it's amazing you guys can even begin to recall any details at all. This knowledge goes back what, a half century?

Whether this subject has anything to do with anything present doesn't matter to me. I see it for what it is / was. The foundation of where we are today regarding computing and automation. Amazing what we've seen in our 'short' lifetime. Thanks for the "gibberish".:D It makes me appreciate where we've come from.

Thank You for the 'Kind' words!(Mike and Just off the Boaticus!) It really did belong in potpouri, but as I recall it started with a bunch of ones and zeros in the First Post!

Mike: There is no 'translator'(not that I know of). Not too much demand since Extended ASCII has taken over. EBCDIC was an IBM thingey that IMHO was an implement to cause dependency on them. Part of it actually makes a little sense though.

Gibber Gibber ish ish:D

BTW I can recall a few things from 70 yrs ago!(My 2nd Christmas)!
