I found an interesting link from the Popular Woodworking Weekly Wood News (electronic news letter) this morning about a different adjustable miter bar.

Hartville Tool has these on sale at this time for $22.98 a pair. They work great, just make sure to use 8x32 bolts and not the 10x32 that were sent with mine. I plan to use one of mine with my dial indicator and a master plate for alignment of my 520. Will post a pic of my jig if it proves useful.

These look like they would be very useful for the building of jigs. It seems that they would be especially useful in jigs used to complete alignments and set ups. The miter slot and standard miter bars allow about .003" variability. These will eliminate that completely.

The Zeroplay Guide Bar & Stop System appears to be a handy addition to the alignment tools for the SS and table saw. I put together a simple guide jig for the dial indicator from SS. It allows you to adjust about all of the slop out of the guide bar and makes it easier to get an accurate reading for the arbor and fence alignment.
