This is the one main accessoy I have been hoping to acquire. Has anyone called to find out if these are in stock? I did not publicly post about my last order experience, but I will now. On the velcro sale SS finally did actually charge my card on a product not shipped and when I called I was told that they had not even found a new supplier yet. So, as tight as money is for me, I surely will not commit $250 for a product that is not available-SS reached the limits of my patience on that last deal. Credit for being truthful when I called, but that is small consolation.
So, if anyone has the inside on this, I would appreciate knowing. I am getting set up to turn banjo rims and there are big interrupted cuts so this accessory is a safety and quality matter for me. Thanks, Mike T.

Mike your experience surprises me. I have never had a credit card charged prior to shipping. I have had them check to be certain the card was valid and had credit for the purchase available. Given the current credit crunch in our world I can't blame any vendor for that. Perhaps a phone order would be appropriate. At least then you can determine availability. Better yet order online now. This gets your order recorded. Then on Monday call to check order status. The call is free and they will be happy to confirm status on either an order or back order. If it is back ordered you have every right to cancel your order. Finding people to manufacture goods today is a huge headache. I have lost clients who were forced to close due to inability to purchase part or products they sell. Good luck on getting the item and please do enjoy a very Merry Christmas. Jim

That credit card event was so strange to me as well. But that is why I decided to note it-I still want to buy from the company. But I won't hand them complete control of the payment timing again. So, I'll call before I do the supposedly required internet order for the sale. Thanks, mt

This is an email special but I don't believe that means you cannot order by telephone, I cannot imagine them turning down an order because of the method of contact.

Dusty is correct- you can order the email special items by telephone. Just tell them the special code number printed near the bottom of the page, near Shopsmith's telephone number.

Just a thought.....
Are you sure your card was charged? When you place an order it is possible for you card company to set that amount aside as a pending charge but you were not actually charged. If that makes sense.
Something about a company can run a card at the time of order to make sure the card is good without "charging" your account.
This is a copy from a card company.
Pending Charges
New credit card transactions that have been authorized but have not yet posted to your Account. These transactions have been subtracted from your Available Credit but have not yet been added to your Current Balance.

It has been my understanding that this is exactly what happens. Available Funding balance is reduced as an indication to the card holder that he has already committed those funds but the actual account balance is not impacted. The card holder is not paying interest yet and the dollars are still in the account.
