Working with Pecan

I would welcome insights on working with pecan. I harvested pecan from some my place. Someone told me that pecan was difficult to work with, but before I start on it, I wonder what everyone's experience has been. Thanks.

in my experience pecan works about the same as walnut. i have only tuned bowls and platters, no flat work.
