I am having a little trouble finding the model number on my SS, i can only see for sure it is a MARK V. Should it say on the same plate?? I can find the serial number and Model number. Any one to the rescue???

Any one to the rescue???Mark V's came in model numbers 500, 505, 510, 520. The differences between them are the table systems, and even if you started with a model 500, it could have been upgraded to as high as a 520; however, there have been improvements made to the headstock over the years, so they are knot all the same. Your serial number will tell you which model your unit was "born" as, before any upgrades (if any) were made.

There are several other groups you can check with and see some of the files and information that will help you a lot. You will find a lot of us on several of these groups and will share information all the time also pictures are good.

Ok, it looks like i have a unit from April 1984. Not to much table space so prob a 500, though i do have a Joiner, Planer, bandsaw and dustcollector. How do i go about sharpening the planer and Joiner blades?? Is it possible to find a user manual, free of charge, and if so, where??

IF you go this way, you should get the 150 grit paper for the conical disk.
