I've been reading through a bunch of old woodworking magazines I got with my used Mark V. Tonight, I read two articles in the February 1986 issues of "Wood Magazine" that I found to be really interesting and maybe of use to some of you wood turners. I scanned them and saved them as PDFs.

First is an interview with/article on Bert Thompson, a 70 year old (at the time), 3rd generation professional wood turner. I think I learned more from this article than anything I've read or videos I've seen so far.

Second is an article on using PEG (poly-ethylene glycol) to "freeze" wood in a green state. Turn wood within weeks of cutting the tree. No waiting years for it to dry. No worrying about cracks or checks.

Good Article! I had to laugh though when, after reading the article about him being an "underhand turner" where the tool rests in the palm of his left hand, and then looking back at the lead photo where it shows just the opposite.
