I've been reading through a bunch of old woodworking magazines I got with my used Mark V. Tonight, I read two articles in the February 1986 issues of "Wood Magazine" that I found to be really interesting and maybe of use to some of you wood turners. I scanned them and saved them as PDFs.
First is an interview with/article on Bert Thompson, a 70 year old (at the time), 3rd generation professional wood turner. I think I learned more from this article than anything I've read or videos I've seen so far.

Second is an article on using PEG (poly-ethylene glycol) to "freeze" wood in a green state. Turn wood within weeks of cutting the tree. No waiting years for it to dry. No worrying about cracks or checks.
