Sometime’s, when one talks about his plans it serves to focus the mind.

Yesterday, I built a prototype for a 1” wide ZCI insert so it could be replaced without replacing the entire saw insert. The pics are posted in another thread. Anyway, I’m now working on a method to use the over arm pin router to produce them in multiples to have on hand.

My sons and, one DIL, own several pistols. Plans are to build presentation boxes, at least one for each owner (3). The gun(s) will rest in a form fitting recess covered by barked glove leather. The boxes will be mesquite w/ walnut accents. Some with dovetails and some with box joints. Maybe one with keyed mitered corners. Might do an inlay on the tops. Might as well build one for me, too.

When those are done, one son wants a long gun cabinet. Oak in this case. Found some plans online that were first published by Pop. Mech. He and family are in Okinawa for another 3 1/2 years. Got some time, there.

Then, the other son’s fiancee smokes very expensive cigars. She has a beautiful humidor, but want’s me to make another one. I’d like to try it.

Finally, I’ve always wanted a router duplicator. Got plans in a stash somewhere.

That’s enough to keep me busy for the next week or so. :D

Don't think that's going to be a problem, Dusty.:D
Heck, I've been pondering that ZCI for at least 3 years.
Sometimes, if you let it, life gets in the way of woodworking.

That is quite true.
Just ask my poor wife who has to listen to me talk about my plans constantly. We often just get into our planning and the #$%& phone rings so many times we go for a short drive to discuss something (or a lot of things) we want to do. We both carry cell phones but only my kids have my number and they know that if my cell phone rings that somebody had better be bleeding. They all also know not to call my wife's cell unless it is important. The drives let us talk with no interruptions but our own.
When the weather is nice we often just climb in the golf cart and head for one of the small back woods. That gets us a half mile from the house and out of sight. :)

This week I am helping her clean the main 36" x 40' basement room. It was full of old stuff of my parents when we moved here and it had not gotten any emptier since.
My #$%& knee that has limited me badly since last summer complains some on the stairs but it has improved enough that the stairs are probably good for it now.

Check out this homemade carving machine (http://www.finewoodworking.com/item/11514/cool-homemade-carving-machine#comment_list). He uses a router to duplicate. You would need a big shop for this.

Yep, Joe. That's pretty much what I had in mind. NOT!:D

Pretty darned cool, though.

Thanks.
