Hi
I need some info on the SS power station. I have the opportunity to get a model yr 2000 power station w/belt sander for $325.00. I really dont need the power station but I want the belt sander. Are the power stations a good power source for the SPTs or is it lack luster compared to the MK 5/V headstock? I am going tonight at 6pm to look at the setup. Also is $325.00 a reasonable price for the combo? I just dont know enough about either tool. Any info will help.
Thanks----Dave

I don't own a power station but on my list of things to get. Would like to just find a Mark V cheap to make a mini.
I did buy the belt sander new from Shopsmith two years ago. Wish I had purchased it sooner. I like it a lot. To sand with variable speed is a dream.

Thanks Cincinnati
I have been wanting the belt sander for awhile now. Cant justify buying the power stand as I have 3 MK 5/V squeezed in my shop now,but the guy will not separate the two. Maybe I can convince him.
Wish me luck.-----Dave

Last I knew there was an Air Force Col. out at Wright Patterson (I forget his name, nice guy) who buys about anything he can over a fairly wide area to sell as parts. I bought a few pieces from him several years ago. I suspect that he keeps that part of the state kind of drained of used ones.

Well, I tried and tried but the seller would not separate. Oh well. Turns out to be a 1997 Power Station. I could not find a s/n sticker on the belt sander. Where would that be located? Seller did not have belt sander owners manual, so I will need to pick one up.

the setup and use of the belt sander isn't hard but the manual does go into several tips and maintenance items that make it a must. Do get the manual.
