I hope this is a good place to put this information. I have experience ordering parts and accessories from Shopsmith on line. Never had a problem. I placed an order over the weekend and thought I had done everything correct. Today, received a call from Linda at Shopsmith and learned that some of the stuff I had ordered had been doubled. The red flag to them was I had mistakenly ordered a velcro pad for my sanding discs. Then ordered adhesive backed sanding discs. So, she called to ensure of my intentions. We got the order straight and the cost went down considerably. That's a great job and she was both friendly and helpful. Thanks, Shopsmith staff for double checking our inputs. I now look forward to more business with folks I feel confident in questioning dumb mistakes.

I have never had anything but good come from SS customer service! It is these kind of things that define SS as having great CS.

a1gutterman,

I had a major problem with a brand new SS. Long and short, my new SS worked for a few minutes but then I lost all power. After talking with Linda several times and finding out that it was a bad crimp she asked me if I could fix it myself. Of course, being the handyman that I am I bought a new lug and crimped it myself and the new SS worked great. For all my time and effort Linda sent me a SS gift card.

SS has the best customer service of any company that I have ever dealt with.

Seems there is only a handful of US companies that provide superior customer service such as Shopsmith being one of them. Henry Repeating Arms in another.

Linda really goes out of her way to see if a part is available or when it will be available while I wait. She has been able to find me individual items that has no part number in their catalog or web site. I always ask for Linda when ordering parts as she has always been able to help me. She is quite knowledgeable about all the Shopsmith equipment and the technical information for them too. Just an outstanding person to deal with.

That is awesome to hear and I too was impressed when I called last week about a manual. But frankly that should be the way every business owner runs their company. Without the customer you have nothing and it really makes me angry beyond words when I call a company that I have spent significant money with only to get crap service. I can guarantee you that if I get treated like Shopsmith treats their customers they will have a customer for life or until their service goes down the drain. I will and have paid more to a company who gives me superior CS and will shun all others in favor of the company that will dig me out of a bind when I need it.

Three thumbs up to SSCS!!!!!!
