A couple of weeks ago I ordered sanding disk paper from Shopsmith by snail-mail and got the package three days after I put the envelope in the mailbox. Possibly a world record.
You're pretty close to their offices in Dayton. But that's still quite impressive! I don't know who to commend more... Shopsmith or the USPS! :D
I ordered A Mark 520 upgrade in December and I keep getting put off about a delivery date. Is anyone else having trouble getting order items ordered? Is Shopsmith in financial trouble?
Bgroome: You might have a lot longer to wait. I ordered a 520 upgrade in September 2008 and it took until June 2009 to receive the order. It was frustrating, and I considered canceling the order, but I'm glad that I didn't. It was worth the wait. And my credit card was not charged until the order shipped in June.

I had a 510->520 upgrade kit on order that I ended up cancelling. They said that they were looking at shipping it the middle of march. Since I was able to "upgrade" to the 520 via craigslist I cancelled my order before it shipped. When I spoke to customer service they were indicating that they were shipping the upgrades in the order in which they were received.

I get a delivery date and when that date approaches and I call to check on status and am told that parts on back order and the delivery date is slipped 2 to 3 weeks and the process starts all over again.bgroome - you might want to contact me at sdssmith51@gmail.com for an alternative.

I ordered the 500 to 520 upgrade when offered as an email special on 2/26. I contacted them the next week and was told they were on back order and would be in on 3/12. I called again on Monday of this week and was told that part of the upgrade was not yet in and would be in on 3/26. So it is a waiting game. I've always received back orders eventually, and lately it has been a shorter wait. My suggestion is, as like everyone else, give Shopsmith a call and see what they have to say.
