I've had a few inquiries about how I do my inlays so I've put together what photos I have. Don't expect the professional presentation that Mark(mbcabinetmaker) produced but this may help for those who are interested. It's not rocket science, just the logical extension of the instructions that come with the standard router inlay set (HF about $10, Woodcraft about $20).

My innovation may be that I assemble the entire veneer, sometimes a whole tabletop, prior to attachment to the substrate and that I use quite thick veneer at about 1/16" finished thickness (starts out about 1/8" off the bandsaw). Then when I cut the hole for the inlay, I'm not trying to "ground out" the entire area but rather cut out the perimeter and toss the scrap from the centre. I use foam insulation under the veneers when cutting and the expensive little spiral updraft bits last forever. In these photos you will see my two favorite clamps.... masking tape and the vacuum bag. Sorry for the gaps in the photo story, but I really wasn't thinking of this sort of use for the pics at the time. I hope It answers some of the questions you've asked.
