inter latch release spring ?

I recently inherited a vintage Shopsmith Mark VII and when I was checking it out I noticed a lose, roughly, v-shaped, spring inside the power head. I believe it is related to the inter latch spring. Can someone tell me how this can be put back into place or direct me to a page with information that will help ?

Sorry I don't know much about the Mark VII. Have you posted this request at the www.ssug.org site? They have a section setup on that machine and that might be another good place to visit as I know some people there have that machine.
