Awhile back I posted on making some X light glass doors. After looking at all options and to keep the project in budget I wound up outsourcing the doors to a local door shop with CNC capabilities. I think they turned out good and the home owner was ecstatic over them. Outsourcing is also a good way to keep the project on time.

These cabinets became part of a 2 section wet bar in an old hallway so the pictures were hard to get. I also still struggle keeping the camera in focus.

These doors are MDF with a one piece glass attached with mirror clips on the back side.

GEE I cannot imagine WHY he is ecstatic!

The whole project looks fantastic(but then consider WHO done it)!

Lighting is yer problem. The lack of light forces the camera to open up the iris to allow more light which decreases the depth of field(focus) and increases the shutter open time thus allowing more time for movement. Did you have the camera set to its highest iso setting?

Been wondering how you worked out making those X light doors. CNC was a good method!! Sure did come out great! Beautiful!!! Nice choice!

Did the CNC machine make the doors with all the Xs in one piece, out of one board? Or did you still have to fit the Xs into the frames?

Chuck they are all one piece with one solid piece of glass applied to the back with mirror clips. There was quite a bit of hand work that had to be done to get the corners cleaned up but they painted out great. I have used these guys quite a bit over the years and they always come through.
