View Full Version : Aspen stick
I do a walking stick a raffle that an organization I be long to dose every year. This one is Aspen. The wood is soft and pretty easy to work with if you do not try to make to deep a cuts. Doing detail you have to make a lot of small cuts, it will flake if you don’t. It is a fun project.

Another masterpiece CV!! Looks great. I don't think I have the artistic skills to do this however but I will try at some point in the future. Curious to know if you also paint pictures or are you strictly 3-D?

Beautiful work there.

No. The funny thing is I can not draw at all. I have learned how to mark for scale and I do very rough sketches on the work with chalk or a pencil. Then just start carving. As you have seen I do paint some of my carvings. Mostly the cypress knees santa's and the fish.

That stick and the donation are really neat, CV.
It should go for a very pretty penny.

i find it amazing that you say you can't draw but yet bring out such detail in your work. Great job CV3

I am envious. I'm a technician and engineer at heart, not an artist. That is art.
Started adding detail today.
