My Jointech set up makes it a somewhat onerous task to do mitering on the 4" wide sides and ends of boxes. I'm thinking of using the miter saw. What say you guys?

Thanks Dusty.
I get great results by tilting the table and using the Wixey. But, the table has to be disengaged from the Jointech table, which involves moving the headstock and table and readjusting the hight and quill to the ZCI. I'm just lazy, I guess. It just seems such a PITA for 4 cuts.
Guess I could find me another unmodified 500, huh?:D Yeah, like I have room!

Use the Miter saw, but then touch up the ends on the disk sander on the SS, that way you can get them perfect.

How long are the pieces that need to be mitered?
If the pieces to be mitered are relatively short AND if you have a miter master - you might be able to do this.

Cutting the first miter is a no brainer but then you must cut the miter that defines the finished length. To do this, because there is no room for extra length, it is necessary to sneak up on the final cut. Before making that miter, the stock must be very close to the finished length.

Thanks Dusty.
I made one of those to make flag cases and it worked fine. I guess I could make one for 45s.
OTOH, a lock miter bit in the router table might end up being the best option.

Yup, a lock miter bit would definitely do the job and this would be excellent justification for the expenditure. Hmmmm, about $70.00. If you build enough boxes the cost per miter will be quit reasonable.
