Any body know what the bearings are(size)?

That's VERY INTERESTING, Red! I seem to have the new eccentric with an old bearing - the larger single bearing. Gosh! It has worked for over 10 years.

If the split in the eccentric along with the absence of a set screw identifies an eccentric as "new type eccentric" then I believe many of us have new eccentrics in out machines.

I, like you Charlese, have a new type eccentric and the old type idler shaft bearing.

Also, I have reason to believe I have one of the first of the new idler shafts. I had been on back order for weeks waiting for the "new idler shaft" to clear production testing after Shopsmith changed sources for the shaft assembly.

Bottom line, the new eccentric is not all that new. My machine is nearly twenty years old and it was manufactured with an old eccentric (a split and no set screw).

Yup, the answer is hidden here (http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/showthread.htm?t=5647&highlight=idler).
