general question.
a 1979 ss bandsaw or a
1991 ss bandsaw.
both have large aluminum tables. the 79 has a few extras.
but I was wondering. sometimes older machine are better built than than the newer ones.

tiaI would be partial to a 1979 bandsaw especially if it had the aluminum table with fence, table extension, circle cutter, manuals and extra blades.:D But again, I may be biased.;)
Seriously, the basic design has not changed. It really comes down to how well the tool was maintained. Beside the table changes, they have changed the blade backup/tracking rollers from bushed rollers to roller bearings. Some people prefer the older style and vice versa. I have had 30 year old bandsaws that are in much better shape than ones that are only five years old. If unsure ask the sellers questions to assess the condition of the tools. Good luck.
