I have not been able to find it but I know it is here somewhere. I just have to learn how to use this search function. Did someone report that sometime this week we were suppose to hear about the new PowerPro release date?

Remember the power of google searches
www.google.com (http://www.google.com):
Enter:
site:ShopSmith.net powerpro
Advanced searches from there actually let you specify a date filter.
I didn't find anything in the past month regarding your specific question. The word 'powerpro' was posted only 5 times in the past month per Mr. Google

I spoke with Shopsmith last week and the remark was carefully measured and ended with "Please keep your mouth shut there is no guarantee." What I heard prior to that was they feel they are very close to an introduction. Secondly they are working hard to make certain all is right including pricing. The 16th date was mentioned as a target along with the disclaimer I guess you know how targets dates are subject to change. I honored my promise to keep my mouth shut through the target date and am one who has checked my email more often than usual the last two days. I truly believe the introduction date is eminent. Yes given the pricing is reasonable I will place one of the first orders. Jim

Pricing is KEY it will make or break the Power Pro and Shopsmith. I believe Shopsmith management was first under the mistaken impression they could make a ton of profit from each Power Pro. That their established customers would blindly gobble them up at any cost. I think they now see the reality of the ecomony and growing demand by consumers to demand prices that reflect actual production costs and reasonable profits.
I believe the sandflee product probably drove this point home. Here was a product that was really jazzy but outrageously priced that in days of old would have sold (In a totaly different economy and mindset) but instead in this economy and mindset, became an "also ran" over night.
I'm sure if Shopsmith sets a fair price based on actual cost and includes a fair profit the Power Pro will bring new life blood to the company. If on the other hand they try to solve all their financial problems on the profit from one unit well ... good luck.
Frankly I believe a Mark V with the new Power Pro head can't be priced even at the current cost of a regular Mark V. They have got to bring the cost down if they want to sell units.

It is amazing; the fact that so many of us seem to think we know what the real cost of the various Shopsmith items should be.
None of us know the real manufacturing costs and none of us know the target profit rate that has been established (within Shopsmith).
All we really know is what we (on an individual basis) would be willing to spend for the new Power Pro. For me, I am just sitting waiting and hoping. To improve my chances, I just agreed with SWMBO that we needed a new dining room set that is not going to be cheap. She ordered it yesterday.;)
Back on topic: What is the anticipated profit figure for a manufacturing facility these days? When I was working in the defense business, we used 17% as our mark up for profit. I suspect that it is just a bit higher these days.
