I have just learned that Glen Huey, at "Popular Woodworking" has a demo unit and will be doing a test.
Hopefully this will result in some positive earned media for Shopsmith. This is the first time in many years that they have been able to generate media attention.

Great to hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My hope is that he will give the Shopsmith a real and honest evaluation and not be biased because they are not a big advertiser.:(

Which other woodworking magazines would be good candidates for a PowerPro review?

How about Wood Magazine or Woodsmith Magazine or Woodsmith Shop TV show on PBS. Oh, I forgot, the big tool manufacturers probably won't allow it on TV

I don't think Woodsmith or Shop Notes magazines do tool reviews. Most of all the others do. The best one would be "Fine Woodworking." If they can get a good review from them, it will be a feather in Shopsmith's cap, thats for sure. "FW" is considered the best magazine by serious woodworkers.

Magazine reviews are like opinions everyone has got one and there will be people that agree or disagree with it.
If you agree with the review it is because they did a great job, if on the other hand you disagree then it is because the manufacture wasn't a big enough advertiser.
I have seen Wood Magazine do what I considered excellent jobs reveiwing something only to have everyone and their brother complain the review or the methods used were stacked to fair a particular manufacture. Likewise I have seen reviews that did what I considered a lousy job and everyone raved about how accurate the review was. Go figure.
I will always remember a consumer report that raved about one lawn mower and panned another. I know for a fact that both were manufactured in the same plant using identical parts on the same assembly line. The features they raved about on one lawn mower was the same features they didn't like or overlooked on the other lawn mower. That was the day I stop reading consumer report.
